What we don't cover

Three rules decide coverage. Everything outside them is left out on purpose.

The three rules

  1. Top 300 only. Below the top 300 by market value, coins are small enough that one seller can crash them. If a coin isn't in the top 300, we don't cover it.
  2. At least a year of trading. New coins are where most rug pulls and collapses happen. We wait for a full year.
  3. No presales and no new launches. Ever. If someone is selling you a coin before it trades, that's the riskiest place in crypto.

Not on our list? Treat it as junk until you've checked it yourself.

Under a year old

This coin has less than a year of trading history. Most coins that blow up do it in their first year, so we wait until it has a full year behind it.

Stablecoin

Stablecoins are built to stay at one dollar (or one euro). There's nothing to rate, so we track them but don't give verdicts. Their real risk is the company or reserves behind them.

Copy of another coin

Wrapped, staked and bridged versions are copies of a coin we already cover (for example, wrapped bitcoin is bitcoin held by a custodian). Covering both would count the same coin twice.

Asset-backed

These are receipts for gold or other real-world assets held by a company. They follow the asset's price, so the risk is the issuer, not the coin.
